SB 64 is a bill would amend the Public Health Code to include recommendations made by the Clinical Advisory Committee created under Public Act 322 of 2012 to biennially update the enforcement process and Clinical Process Guidelines (CPGs) of Michigan’s nursing homes.

SB 65 amends the Public Health Code to make changes regarding employment or contracts of certain health professionals in the nursing home setting. SB’s 66, 67 would clarify the definition of learned profession for certain health professionals.

Michigan Test for Teacher Certification (MTTC) Fee Cap Removal

SB 358 removes the fee cap on certain Michigan Test for Teacher Certification (MTTC) tests and allows for the state to set the testing fee in order to pay for updates by the testing vendor and Michigan Department of Education (MDE) oversight.

Low risk exemption from inspection and managerial certification requirements

SB 144 (S-2) (Casperson) Amends the Michigan Food Law in order to allow a local health department to conduct an in-office consultation and an operational review instead of an in person inspection of a proposed temporary food establishment that would serve only “low-risk food”.

HB 4660-HB 4668 eliminate eight different reports the Department of Insurance and Financial Services (DIFS) is required to compile, including reports on: Medical Malpractice, Workers Comp Competition, Commercial Liability Competition, Liquor Liability, Municipal Claims, Short Term/Limited Duration Policies, State of Competition in Small Employer Carrier Health Market, and HMO Enrollment Increases.
