Description:
HB 4493 (S-1) (Kesto) establishes a state level requirement that school boards and public school academy (PSA) boards of directors ensure as part of the school’s 8-12 grade curriculum, age and grade appropriate materials are taught on genocide, including the Holocaust and Armenian Genocide, recommending a total of 6 hours over the 5 year span.

SB 858 (S-1) (Jones) would amend the Revocation of Paternity Act to make it easier for the victim of a sexual assault to have the paternity rights of her perpetrator revoked once she proves by clear and convincing evidence that her child was conceived as a result of nonconsensual sexual penetration.

HB 5164 (Chatfield) amends the Land Division Act to establish that the fee for recording plats is the same as provided in the Revised Judicature Act.
HB 5165 (MOSS) amends Public Act 107 of 1895 to set the fee that a register of deeds can collect for recording an instrument as the same as provided in the Revised Judicature Act.
